CUBEX

In this Interbellum home, we brou a Cubex-inspired kitchen as an extension of the living room, integrating a warm oak library.

Inspired by Louis-Herman De Koninck’s original Cubex kitchen (1930), which introduced the first modern kitchen with 60 cm modules, we revisited the original drawings. We reintroduced the utility room and adapted the design to balance open living with practical scullery functionality.

For a family of six, the layout provides extra prep and storage. The kitchen can open for gatherings or close to hide clutter. A durable Dekton worktop handles hot pots, supports buffet-style use, and keeps dinnerware within reach.

Careful planning of the flow saves time and effort, while the built-in library anchors the space, making it functional and comfortable.
